I believe you can reach your personal and professional communication goals. I am committed to you being able to read, write, email, and speak American English professionally.
Everyone in every language has an accent. The accent can be regional, socio-economic, and/or ethnic in origin.
I will help your American English accent center on a standard "sound" that is true to your roots AND perfectly intelligible in person, on the phone, and via the Internet.
I began teaching American English as a Second Language in 1999. I received my C.E.L.T.A. (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the University of Cambridge in 2003.
In addition to my University of Cambridge English language training, I have a career background in American History. I have been a registrar, cataloger, and exhibit curator for the Folger Shakespeare Library, the National Trust for Historic Preservation Library, the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum, the University of Maryland Rare Books & Literary Manuscripts, and the Smithsonian Institution.
The University of Cambridge was established in 1209. For eight centuries, the University has provided education, scholarship and research at the highest level. My University of Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is accepted throughout the world by organizations that employ English language teachers.
