American English Lessons + Accent Modification = Cultural Competency

I create authentic tasks to trigger your American English use.

We listen to each other, reformulate our language, contrast contexts, and discuss the content of American English spoken, heard, or read.

We consider fact, opinion, attitude, and ourselves as we refine communications skills through increased fluency, confidence, imagination, and accuracy.

I teach multiword items such as poly words/modal verbs (to put off), collocations (prices fell), institutional expressions (Just a minute, please!), and colloquial American English expressions (to bird dog a task).

Cultural competence allows you to work well with people of different cultures.  You are aware of your own world view; with valuABLEssons you will learn different American cultural practices and world views.  You possess many cross-cultural skills already.  Soon you will be able to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures.

All valuABLEssons are scheduled to fit your timetable.  You may pay-as-you-go: as low as just $45 per 90 minute lesson for a regularly scheduled session in Bethesda.

In addition, a special flexible six-month meeting schedule is available for clients with demanding travel and work schedules.  valuABLEssons can accomdate your language needs, with just 24 hours notice, from Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 9 PM (subject to availability), for up to 25 hours of instruction for $750 prepaid.  All materials are included for the busy international professional in this program.
